Traditional Indications: Laxative.
Anthraglycosides are primarily responsible for its laxative action by increasing peristalsis and inducing bowel movements usually within six hours. Cascara is indicated in when soft stool is desired, e.g. uncomplicated constipation, hemorrhoids, anal fissures, and following surgery. Chronic use may cause potassium loss; no other known side effects. Traditionally taken in a dose of 20 drops two times daily or as directed by your physician. Container: 2 Fluid oz./60 ml.
