Ayurvedic Herb Seminar Scott Gerson, M.D., Ph.D.(Ayu) This full-day seminar will commence with an introduction to dravyaguna, the principles of Ayurvedic pharmacology, which is a pre-requisite to any discussion of herbal medicines. Introduction To Ayurvedic Pulse Diagnosis Scott Gerson, M.D., Ph.D.(Ayu) Universal consciousness manifests in all sentient and non-sentient beings. The pulse is a representation of that consciousness flowing through the mind-body continuum of the individual. This hands-on workshop will elucidate the conceptual basis of Ayurvedic interpretation of the pulse and teach the basic techniques of pulse examination. Limited to 24 participants. $75

Ayurvedic Massage Scott Gerson, M.D., Ph.D. (Ayu) The purpose of massage in Ayurveda is to promote the flow of vital energy, or prana, into regions of the physiology where it has become blocked and throughout the entire mind-body structure. Through the use of massage oils whichare specific for a given constitution and through knowledge of the function of the marma shulas Ayurvedic massage has been used theraputically for centuries. This workshop will primarily be a full-day hands on experience of giving and receiving massage. The didactic material will cover the names and theraputic value of the marmas and relevant anatomy. $75

Sanskrit Workshop Luis Chavez Sanskrit is the langauge of Ayurveda. It evolved in the minds of the ancient sages who understood its sounds to originate from the sacred sound, Aum, which contains all sounds. This full-day workshop will explore the Sanskrit alphabet (16 vowels, 25 consonants, 9semi-vowels and aspirants), and will give participants an opportunity to experience the the vibratory nature of these sounds. Participants will learn the proper pronunciation of a primary Vedic mantra. Luis Chavez, in addition to being a Sanskrit student for over twenty years, is well-respected for his broad knowledge of the Vedic spiritual tradition. His teaching is an expression of practical knowledge and creative development. He brings a vital connection to the language and the ability to communicate its subtle essence clearly to all. $75

Panna has been cooking for Dr. Gerson since 1997. She has gathered recipes from some of the most knowledgeable Ayurvedic families throughout India, including her own. She is a devout vegetarian and divides her time between her family, food preparation, and giving cooking classes. $100.
