
SECTION 5: AYURVEDIC MASSAGE OILS
The National Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine obtains its massage oils
form two small Ayurvedic trusts which specialize in the manufacture of herbalized
oils. Great attention is paid to using all the herbs indicated by the ancient
texts without eliminating even those which are hard to obtain. The addition
of unique blends of essential oils under the direction and collaboration between
Dr. Gerson and several of India's most knowledgeable vaidyas, make these massage
oils extraordinary and subtle.
Use Of Ayurvedic Massage Oils: Apply approximately 2 - 3 tablespoons
of the warmed oil over the entire body and massage using up-and-down strokes
over the long muscles and circular strokes over the joint areas. After completing
the full body massage, leave the oil on for an additional 5 - 10 minutes before
showering.
Vata Massage Oil
This unique herbalized oil will soothe, moisten, and warm the Vata constitution
which can tend to be cool, dry, and beset with nervous energy. This oil has
been used for centuries throughout India to restore vitality to the Vata skin,
promote the gentle elimination of toxins, and improve the circulation.

Sesame oil is rich in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Unlike most other modern-day oils containing high amounts of polyunsaturated oil, sesame oil is not prone to oxidation due to the presence of sesamin and sesamol, natural antioxidants. This sesame oil is organic, expeller-pressed, and lightly filtered retaining some organic residues and all of sesame’s unique properties and aromas. Pure, unrefined, and certified organic.

Almond oil is easily absorbed into the skin and therefore is renowned dating back 3000 years as a natural moisturizer and emollient (softens) for the face and body. It is commonly used for anointing the body in various herbalized formulations as well as alone in pure form. It is a mild, light oil, rich in unsaturated fats and essential fatty acids. A few drops on the face and around the eyes is produces soft glowing complexion.

Bhringaraj Oil
Bhringaraj oil from the plant Eclipta alba (Roxb.) is used in Ayurveda for promoting hair growth, preventing premature hair loss, and darkening the hair.
