As conventional medicine becomes ever more complicated and costly, growing numbers of people are re-discovering Ayurveda. Ayurveda is a natural, simple, low-cost, and holistic approach to prevent illness and solve common health problems. A holistic approach means that we recognize that the mind, spirit, and environment have direct and powerful effect on the function of the body. This workshop, geared to Yoga practitioners but open the public, will explore the philosophical underpinnings and basic practical applications of Ayurveda. Participants will determine their own constitutional type, understand their optimal diet, explore common Ayurvedic herbal preparations and home remedies, and learn how to enjoy life more through dinacharya—an Ayurvedic daily regimen.
